Indian Cuisine in Northern Ireland

One of the most up and coming food cultures in Northern Ireland is without doubt Indian cuisine. There have always been a lot of other restaurants and takeaways but the Indian food has always been misrepresented.  That is until now!  If you were to look for an Indian restaurant to eat out in within Belfast, you would be presented with many restaurants and many of them are good.  However the one restaurant that has received plaudits from the Belfast Telegraph's editor and reached the Top 10 across all categories was The Khayber restaurant.

The Khayber has been open since 1998 and the food has just got better and better as the years have gone on.  If you were to count all the restaurants in Northern Ireland, you would easily see that to get into the Top 10 is really quite an achievement in itself.  This is what Mr Khan believes - the food of any restaurant should do the talking.  If the food is good enough and the service is equal, then customers will come back for more.  Word of mouth has been The Khayber's most successful advertisement.  Many have come to taste the Indian cuisine on offer at The Khayber and many have left with their palate well and truly satisfied.

Visitors to Northern Ireland have often remarked at the variety of restaurants in Belfast and they have always been pleased with both the service and the cuisine in The Khayber restaurant.  You would be hard pressed to find a dinner in The Khayber that did not enjoy the pleasurable experience on their taste buds that they had in the latter restaurant.  Smiles adorn customers going into the restaurant as they know what delights they are about to experience and smiles adorn customers exiting the restaurant as they have fulfilled their expectations in dining out.  Someone once said about their eating in The Khayber – dining out like it should be!
Instead of reading about the Indian cuisine in The Khayber, why don’t you give them a call and book your place at the table of excellence.  The details are below.  You will certainly not regret calling to reserve your table or you can visit the restaurant and taste for your self what everybody is talking about.

Indian Restaurants in Belfast: The Khayber History and Cuisine

Known as one of the finest servers of Indian cuisine in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the Khayber Restaurants has been happily dishing up exquisite fare for lovers of Indian food since 1995 and people are raving about it.

The history of the Khayber Restaurants makes it unique from all other Indian restaurants in Belfast, elsewhere in Northern Ireland and beyond. This rapidly growing chain of Indian restaurants got its name from the historic mountain trade route that went between Central Asia and South Asia, known as the Khyber Pass.

The restaurant’s name purposefully uses the alternate spelling, Khayber, because that is how it is pronounced in the dialect of the region. This region is also the birthplace of the Khayber Restaurant’s founder Mr. Khan.

Mr. Khan is also renowned for opening one of the first and most popular Indian restaurants within the Belfast area: The Mogul, located on Great Victoria Street in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Of all the Indian restaurants in Belfast, the Khayber Restaurant’s menu is probably the most diverse with a very varying selection of cuisine from across India, while strongly influenced by North Indian cooking. Their influence is especially strong from the Punjab region.

Every dish, exquisitely prepared with subtle combinations of herbs and spices, is prepared by their award winning-chefs, some of the best chefs for an Indian restaurant in Belfast.

The Khayber Restaurant house specialties include dishes such as Khayber Special Korma, which is a modern style korma flavored with the customer’s choice of liquor. Another is the Khayber Supreme Masala – succulent lamb and chicken with a rich and creamy sauce.

Of the Indian restaurants in Belfast, the Khayber Restaurant offers the very best Tandoori, Tikka, Balti and Biryani dishes. These dishes are all served with the customer’s choice of lamb, chicken, prawn or a vegetable.  Their Indian cuisine is reknown throughout Northern Ireland.

The Khayber Restaurant has a vast menu so you can try something new every time you come to dinner, instead of ordering the same thing every time like you might at some other Indian restaurants in Belfast. This menu will keep you coming back so you can try everything on it.

Ranked among the Belfast Telegraph’s Top Ten Restaurants, the Khayber Restaurant consistently receives outstanding reviews from both critics of Indian restaurants in Belfast, critics of all restaurants, and the general public which it serves so well.

If you’re looking for an  Indian restaurant to visit in Belfast and indulge in a fine dining experience with the best Indian cuisine around, the Khayber Restaurant is located at 373-375 Antrim Road, Glengormley in Belfast.
